Winter Rides Meeting 2024 and Prizegiving
Cycling UK Louth Rides Meeting Wednesday 27th November 2024:
Thanks to all the members who attended the Winter Series Rides Meeting. The weather wasn't conducive for a club ride (‘Storm Conall’ followed hot on the heels of ‘Storm Bert’) but with the help of Rob Cook, Paul Linder, Martin Wood, John Rickett, Tim Newbery and Ty Harness (who supplied some delicious homemade biscuits), and with suggestions and requests sent in from other members, we have (hopefully!) come up with a series of rides that will suit most.
Some longer, some shorter, some flatter, some up and down the hills. Rides with destinations to include Cleethorpes, Baumber Walled Gardens, Horncastle, Market Rasen, Mablethorpe and Hagworthingham.
Detailed joining instructions of all the rides to be published in the coming days. As ever the rides may be altered, postponed or even cancelled depending upon the vagaries of the weather.
We were also delighted to have had the company of John Ambler who is our longest serving member. John took part in Cycling UK Louth’s inaugural ride back in April 1986. A few years ago, John presented the club with the ‘Louth Cup’ to be awarded to ‘Cycling UK Louth’s Cyclist of the Year’.
For 2024, John awarded the cup to Paul Linder who has overcome adversity, supporting the club throughout the time whist off the bike. Paul has made a quick recovery and is now back in the fold once more. Well done Paul.
