Event description


A basic bicycle maintenance class for women as part of the Cycling UK Women's Festival of Cycling.

The class will be taken by bike mechanic Kevin Rees.

The purpose of the session is to teach the basic maintenance and repairs needed to ensure you are able to address the regular issues that may occur during a cycle ride. These will include:

Puncture repairs / inner tube replacements

Wheel removal and replacement

Chain alignment

Rear and Front Mech adjustments. 

Brake ajustments etc.

Inspection and basic maintenance, a check list of what to look for and what to do if and when required,

Assuming your bike is in good order at the start of the ride, what can go wrong, what do you need to do to get back home, what tools and equipment should you carry?

You can bring your own bike if you would like and carry out the maintenance and inspection needed for it. Max numbers 10. Free of charge to Cycling UK members.
