Swansea and Gower Cycling Festival 2023
Event description
This summer sees the return of the Swansea & Gower Cycling Festival, under the management of Cycling UK member group, Swansea CTC. The original Gower Cycling Festival was an annual event organised by Swansea Cycling campaign group Wheelwrights, that ran from 2010 to 2018. The new 5-day festival will be planned and run by experienced members of Swansea CTC, and will offer a fantastic range of rides to suit all levels of cycling ability and experience.
There will be 13 rides catering for a wide range of cycling abilities, from novice riders and those riding with children to longer and more challenging rides of up to 65 miles.
The majority of rides will start and end at a central location, and all will have a ride leader and two support rides. None of the rides are races, with the emphasis on social, group riding, with regular stops to regroup and for longer rides, a lunch break. We operate a ‘no drop’ policy, meaning no rider gets left behind.
Rides will take place throughout the beautiful Gower penisula and the greater Swansea area, extending into the scenic, hilly terrain Carmarthenshire. Family friendly rides will be all or largely on traffic-free cycle paths.
