Cycling Tynedale
Our activities
About us
Cycling Tynedale are a Cycling UK affiliated group.
Cycling Tynedale mainly caters for two levels of MTB riders, Gravel riders and Road riders
Level 1 – capable, competent and fit
Level 2 – keen, seeking more experience and improving fitness
A youth section may well follow in due course but 14 years olds who can ride at or above the appropriate skills level outlined above, in the company of an adult who is responsible for them, will be made most welcome on either category of rides.
Cycling Tynedale is based in the Tyne Valley but open to cyclists in the wider region. It exists for its members to:
provide opportunities for enthusiasts to ride together & share route information
campaign/negotiate for new and/or improved routes and facilities
physically help repair or build routes for mountain biking
create a means to apply for and receive funding to help achieve aims 2 & 3
Road Cycling
A number of members are also road cyclists and the club has a road ride programme to meet this demand. We are just as keen to help with the development of new road routes as we are for new MTB routes.
Information about the group rides
The club’s programme mirrors the club's aims whenever possible.
The club co-ordinates rides for fit and competent cyclists and also for less skilful cyclists more or less split thus:
Wednesday evening rides most of the year - MTB level 1&2
Saturday, Sunday or mid week, half day or full day rides, road or MTB every fortnight or as required
Weekend and 3 day trips to ride further afield
