Watership Down 105 km Sunday 12th January 2025 

Entries are now open for our winter classic on Sunday 12th January 2025 

We are likely to reach the maximum limit of 150 long before the closing date as this year,  the entry is limited to 150 riders to avoid overcrowding in the hall and Hatchet Inn. 

For those of you not familiar with the event, the Watership Down is a challenging ride of 105 km organised by Winchester CTC under Audax UK rules and starts and finishes at Jubilee Hall, London Road, Kings Worthy, SO23 7QN, just outside Winchester.

The route is mainly on minor roads. From the start it goes via Weyhill to Lower Chute (manned control at The Hatchet), then up and along Chute Causeway before dropping down Conholt Hill, Then up Walbury Hill. From there it returns via Burgchlere, ascends Watership Down and down to Whitchurch. Finally, it returns via Barton Stacey to Kings Worthy..

A detailed written route sheet and gpx file are available. Further information will be provided with your entry confirmation.

The Hatchet Inn at Lower Chute will provide coffee/tea and biscuits, the cost of which is included in your entry fee. This year, the entry fee also includes all food and drink at the start and the finish.

Mudguards are a condition of riding this event and there will be a bike check at the start to ensure that all riders have mudguards.

As this is an Audax ride, you need to enter by going to the Audax UK website

Payment is by PayPal. You can use this option even if you are not a PayPal user and there is no need to register for PayPal.
