The Victory Sportive at Pedal Norfolk

Sportive/Challenge Ride

Event description

The Victory Sportive - 14/07/2024

Norfolk is the birthplace to perhaps the most famous and historic maritime hero to come from our shores – Lord Horatio Nelson.

Whether you live with us here in Norfolk or you are travelling to join us at Pedal Norfolk, as you cross into Norfolk by road you will be reminded about the close relationship and bond Norfolk retains with Nelson as the county sign declares it loudly and proudly!

At Pedal Norfolk we are celebrating our Norfolk hero with a brace of cycle sportives in his name – The Nelson on Saturday and The Victory (named after his most famous ship) on Sunday. Each ride has its own route offering riders two unique rides over the festival weekend, but they will both pass through Nelson’s birthplace of Burnham Market to pay homage to our Norfolk hero.

Of course, as you would expect at TPR Events, the medals for each ride interlock giving you the opportunity not only to celebrate Nelson with up to 200 miles over the weekend but also a brace of interlocking souvenir medals that your descendants can take to Antiques Roadshow in 100 years time as an artefact of Norfolk’s Nelson history!

Fully supported with mobile mechanic, ‘broom wagon’ and well stocked food/drink stops along the way, prepare for all the British weather can throw at you and look forward to a well earned chunky medal and warm welcome upon your return.
