Off Road Ride to Cambridge and Train Back
Event description
Meet outside Stevenage train station at 10.15am.
Note: A prize will be awarded for 'Best Decorated' bike/rider, celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
35 miles, a variety of trail types (50% unpaved), with sections of cycleway and quiet lanes. This route is suitable for gravel bikes and mountain bikes.
Moving time about 3.5 to 4 hours, plus time at refreshment stop.
To Graveley, section of Letchworth Greenway towards Ashwell, Ashwell Street byway (old Roman road) to Meldreth, then to Grantchester and Cambridge train station.
Limited refreshment options on the route, bring your own drinks and snacks.
Wind strength/direction will determine whether we ride to Cambridge and train back (or train there and ride back), to minimise headwinds; ride leader will confirm to riders near the day.
Trains from SVG to CBG at 3, 33 and 38 minutes past each hour; duration 38 to 45 minutes, with no changes.
Trains from CBG to SVG at 24, 54 and 57 minutes past each hour; duration 38 to 45 minutes, with no changes.
Maximum 8 total riders.
