Pedal on Parliament 2023 + feeder rides

Many people are cycling down a cobbled street with grand buildings, including people on standard two-wheeled cycles and a three-wheeled handcycle. Two people are carrying a banner with a bicycle on it that reads 'This machine fights climate change'.

Event description

Pedal on Parliament is a mass family-friendly protest ride to send a loud message to politicians that there should be no back pedalling on their promises to fund active travel. It starts at 1pm outside the National Museum in Edinburgh and takes in a route along closed roads through the city to Holyrood Park for a rally outside the Scottish Parliament.

Although progress has been made in Scotland since PoP first started in 2012, the clock is ticking on climate change and there's no time to waste: it’s time to make Scotland a cycle-friendly country. People will cycle if the conditions are right. It’s up to our politicians to make cycling a safe and realistic option for everyone.

There will also be feeder rides from across Edinburgh and beyond on the morning of the 22nd and group rides down to the start from the Meadows if people wish to gather there - see the PoP website for more information.
