Oxfordshire Triennial Veterans Century Ride 2022
Event description
Our Century ride is always special event and every three years when we host a Triennial Veterans Century it is extra special.
The ‘Trivets’ is series of long-distance cycling events for the over-50s every 3 years organised by Cycling UK Groups – a tradition dating back to 1928. As ours is also our regular annual Century ride, you don’t have to be over 50 to ride.
Ride start is from Islip Village Hall (please park at Islip railway station if coming by car). The route covers almost half the county reaching from almost Banbury to beyond Faringdon. Arrive at least 20 minutes before the 8am ride start.
Stops will be at:
- 25 miles – Coffee: Cotefield Nurseries, Bodicote
- 50 miles – Lunch: Charlbury (formerly Ramsden) Garden Centre (probably from a reduced menu for quick service)
- 75 miles – Tea-time: The Horse and Jockey pub, Stanford-in-the-Vale
Riders will pay for refreshments individually, as on a regular club ride, and we will not have a fee for the event.
We will need to limit numbers to 36 (3 groups of 12). If you book and find out you can not come, please tell us.
The route from three years ago will give you an idea of the route (>> route on this link <<) but look out for an update closer to the day.
Updates will be published on http://cyclingukoxfordshire.org/rides-and-events/oxfordshire-trivets-2022/
