MTB Uplift Day
Event description
This event is aimed at disabled people who like a challenge and is a must for those who love downhill cycling as there will be no uphill climbs!
We'll be meeting at EC offices in Slaithwaite and then transporting people to the start of the downhill route at the top of the Wessenden Valley. The route will take us down the valley past Wessenden, Blackley and Butterley reservoirs, through Marsden and back to our offices via the Huddersfield Narrow Canal.
We'll be using hand cycle mountain bikes - recumbent hand cycles suitable for any terrain - and KMX Karts - foot pedalled recumbent trikes. The route we'll be following is challenging and follows a fairly rough gravel surface, narrow and steep in parts so this ride is not for beginners.
There will be two sessions - 10.30am and 1.30pm.
