Level 3 Intermediate Ride, e.g. Windsor Great Park

Windsor Cycle Hub at Windsor Great Park
18 January 2025
Local Group Event

Event description

Every 3rd Saturday of the month it's time for a Level 3 Intermediate Ride. Please book your place here

The progression over Easy Explorer is that we add hills, a little more pace and distance. You need to be a reasonably experienced cyclist or have completed 3-4 of our earlier level rides to attempt this.

We recommend that you carry a spare inner tube, drink, snack and a waterproof jacket.

Typically involves: Riding from The Swan to Stag Meadow up the cycle track to Windsor Great Park (WGP) is a popular run. We normally stay within the Park’s roads – unless the whole group is feeling more adventurous, e.g. we might pop out briefly to visit sites like the RAF Memorial.

If you can't manage the hill up to the park on your 1st attempt, then it's fine to get off & walk - we'll stay with you. We'll help you on gear selection, pedalling technique & to help you get up the next one. You'll soon have it sussed!

WGP's a great place to ride, it's got beautiful views, lovely smooth roads & gentle hills. Also, because it's practically traffic-free it's just really nice.

We start checking bikes at 10:45 (please book, using the same link as the ride) & have a chat, then we hit the road at 11:00. Please be at The Swan by 10:55 latest, you must be booked in & we must determine if your bike's safe for group riding. Back to The Swan in time for a refreshing drink & to plan next month's ride.

Up to 1 3/4 hrs, stop once (for onboard snacks) & up to 18 miles
