Event ride

Event description

Fixture: Cambridge United vs Morecambe FC

Date: Saturday 9 April

Journey length: 5.5 KM (30 min)

Start: Cambridge Market Square, Cambridge Train Station

Fancy reducing your impact on the planet and communities who live near Abbey Stadium. Or maybe you want to do a bit of exercise before going to the game? Or simply you just want to meet some fellow fans, chat about the footy as you cycle through the city?

We provide the bike, you just need to turn up!

We are running a led ride to the footy, you are welcome to join professional ride leaders on a journey through Cambridge on an specially designed quiet route. Taking safer streets and cycle paths, we have two stops for people to join, at Market Square and Cambridge Train Station, we will arrive at Abbey Stadium ready for the match. At the end of the game we will lead you back to the station.

We welcome both sets of supporters on our rides.

We will meet at 13.30 at Market Square, leaving at 13.45, planning to meet our next group at Cambridge Station at 14.00, finally arriving at Abbey Stadium around 14.15. Full terms and conditions will be sent round to participants once they have signed up.

You are welcome to bring your cycle with you, or we can provide a bike for you to use during the ride for free. All are welcome, however any under 18's will need to be accompanied by an adult and complete a short cycle skills test prior to the event.

Pedal to the Pitch is an organisation that encourage fans to walk, wheel and cycle to football matches. We want to reduce football fans impact on local communities around stadia, improve air quality at football games and minimise footballs impact on the planet. We run led rides and walks, campaign for sustainable practice and bring together fans with similar ideas.
