Ayrshire Big Yin
Event description
The Ayrshire Big Yin takes you on a 100 mile tour of the county’s rural roads and through the countryside once home to Robert Burns, Scotland’s national poet.
It consists of 3 signed loops, each returning to the event base in the seaside town of Troon for free refreshments.
There’s a generous 12-hour time limit plus maps and route sheets.
GPX files are provided to online entrants.
It is a non-competitive social ride, the vast majority of which is on quiet 'B' grade roads.
Being a non-competitive ride, it is up to the rider to time themselves if they so wish.
We do not record event times or placings.
With the generous time-limit, you can decide how fast or how slow you cycle to complete your own personal challenge.
Those who finish and qualified to ride as a Veteran will also receive a Veteran's Ride 2019 certificate and have the option to purchase a commemorative badge and/or date bar in recognition of their achievement.
If you fancy a shorter challenge, take a look at our other option - The Ayrshire Wee Yin – it’s 100km.
