Decathlon Bike Week 2024 competition terms and conditions

Cycling UK has teamed up with Decathlon to bring you a special competition for Bike Week 2024. Full terms and conditions are below
  1. The promoter is: Cyclists’ Touring Club (Central) Ltd (company no.1644669) whose registered office is at Parklands, Railton Road, Guildford, Surrey GU2 9JX.
  2. The competition is open to residents of the United Kingdom aged 18 years or over except employees of Cyclists’ Touring Club and their close relatives and anyone otherwise connected with the organisation or judging of the competition.
  3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  4. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  5. Route to entry for the competition and details of how to enter will be shared via X, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
  6. Closing date for entry will be 16 June 2024. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
  7. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
  8. The rules of the competition and how to enter are as follows:
      • Upload a photo which sums up being a bike hero and cycling being a force for good
      • On Instagram and X share your photo using #BikeWeekUK and #BeaBikeHero and follow @wearecyclinguk and @decathlonuk on Instagram and @WeAreCyclingUK and @DecathlonUK on X
      • On Facebook and LinkedIn like the Cycling UK post and comment with a photo using #BikeWeekUK and #BeaBikeHero
      • Your social media account must be public and the post online until the competition end date so that your entry is searchable
  9. Cyclists’ Touring Club accepts no responsibility for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice.
  10. One winner will be selected for each stated social media channel (Instagram, X, Facebook and LinkedIn), therefore there will be four winners in total.
  11. The prize will be a choice of one of the below bikes from Decathlon:
      • Rockrider ST 530 full suspension mountain bike
      • Triban carbon road bike
      • Btwin 900 folding bike
      • Rockrider EXPL 520 touring mountain bike
  12. The prize will be stated via social media and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
  13. The winners will be notified via social media within 28 days of the closing date. If the winners cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
  14. By submitting a picture, entrants consent to Cyclists’ Touring Club resharing their story and image for promotional purposes in the Cycling UK magazine, Cycle Clips and on Cycling UK's social media channels.
  15. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
  16. The winning images will be posted on Cyclists’ Touring Club’s social media channels and within CycleClips newsletter.
  17. The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected/is delivered.
  18. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  19. The winners photos may be used for future marketing promotions for Cyclists’ Touring Club.
  20. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
  21. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by English law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England.
  22. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.
  23. The winner’s name will be available 28 days after closing date by writing to the following address: Cyclists’ Touring Club, Parklands, Railton Road, Guildford, Surrey GU2 9JX.
  24. Entry into the competition will be deemed as acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  25. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn or any other social network. You are providing your information to Cyclists Touring Club and not to any other party. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy.
