While managing Rutland County’s Bikeability programme, Sally noticed people in the community were unable to continue cycling due to not owning bikes. She set up the My Bike project – bikes dropped off at the recycling centre reconditioned at a local prison and given out for free to anyone in the county regardless of age or circumstance.

“Remembering how I felt about that little red and white bike I had when I was 5, everyone should experience this – the access to a bike, having the access to the education to ride a bike, to discover the enjoyment that being on a bike can bring!”
