Diane Clayton
Club ride leader and head coach, board member at Scottish Cycling
Diane cycled as a child and did some mountain biking. But it was when her son joined local cycling club West Lothian Clarion that she really got involved. She trained as a ride leader and coach. She is now head coach and club president, as well as a board member at Scottish Cycling. She helps run Women’s Hour at West Lothian Cycle Circuit, aiming to develop a community of female cyclists.
“I always rode bikes as a kid, just for fun, but I stopped when I was a teenager ’cos it wasn’t cool. By 18 I was back riding and doing my own thing.”
