Ben lives in Ilkley, Yorkshire, and has cycled regularly ever since his teenage paper-round in north London.

Through his work in central and local government, Ben has been involved in cycle policy, active travel planning, cycle infrastructure strategy and schemes, cycle hire schemes, and community grant programmes to encourage cycling.

Ben has been Chief Executive of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority since 2016,  and with this comes successful experience in good governance, leading a positive culture, encouraging diversity and a focus on value for money outcomes.
