In 2019 Amy was elected councillor for Preston Park ward in Brighton and Hove.

Despite opposition from fellow politicians and members of the public, she's worked hard to introduce new cycle infrastructure to the area. As well as rolling out the city's first bike hangar and an accessible two-way cycle lane, she also helped find a home for a charity that leads rides for the elderly.
