Jenny Nuttall

As a qualified mountain biking guide, Jenny has been guiding free ladies-only rides in the Lake District for the last few years in an attempt to encourage more women to get involved with this type of cycling. She left a legal career to live a dream, taking over an independent bike shop, Ride Bikes, 18 months ago. She now runs regular ladies rides from the shop too, but caters for all levels and all ages. On rides, Jenny is far more than just a leader; she is an incredible motivator and ensures no one is left behind.

Jenny says, “It's a joy to help women get outside. We also have large women’s range in the shop, that and combined with a friendly female face I think has encouraged many more women to the shop and to enquire about products.

“We are building a great community, for women and for the guys.”

Jenny is also an Ambassador for Flare Clothing Company and Wonderful Wild Women, and has contributed to the websites Pedal North and Lakes MTB.

Cycling UK’s 100 Women in Cycling is an annual list celebrating inspirational women who are encouraging others to take part in this wonderful and life-enhancing activity.
