Get ahead of the carve with our Halloween pumpkin designs
1. Choose your design
We've created easy, medium, and hard templates, so you can challenge yourself if you like!
2. Cut out the template
With a pair of scissors or a craft knife, carefully cut out the black sections of the template (the negative space). If you're under the age of 18, ask an adult to help you.
3. Remove the crown
Choose a large pumpkin and carefully use a sharp serrated knife to cut off the crown. If you're under the age of 18, ask an adult to help you.
4. Scoop out the seeds and pumpkin 'guts'
Using a large spoon, scoop out the seeds and innards from the pumpkin. Use the spoon to remove some of the flesh from the walls of the pumpkin.
5. Draw on your design
Tape your chosen template onto the pumpkin in the desired position. With a marker pen, draw the outline of the design onto the pumpkin.
6. Carve your pumpkin
Remove the template, and using the serrated knife, cut out the design. Always cut away from you in case the knife slips. Use a smaller knife for the trickier parts. If you're under the age of 18, ask an adult to help you.
7. Light up your pumpkin
Pop a tea light inside the pumpkin, light it and replace the crown. Voilà! You have your perfect bicycle-themed jack-o-lantern!
