Book now for the CTC Birthday Rides 2018 in Staffordshire
The Birthday Rides are organised by CTC Holidays' volunteers and take place at various locations around the country every August.
This year's rides in Stone, Staffordshire promise to be a mouth-watering feast of cycling opportunities, as well as the chance to socialise with friends old and new.
From Stone, there is easy access to the surrounding countryside, and the centre is a perfect base for exploring Staffordshire’s varied landscape and discovering its picturesque lanes and villages, as well as being close to Shropshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire. Staffordshire is ideal for cycle touring with rolling countryside nearby and more challenging topography in the nearby Peak District.
There is also an abundance of attractions, tea rooms and country pubs to choose from, and for those with an interest in pottery and china, there is much to see in the nearby Potteries. Local places to visit include:
- World of Wedgwood
- Sudbury Hall and Museum of Childhood
- Trentham Estate and Italian Gardens
- Monkey Forest
- Cannock Chase
- Shugborough Hall
- National Memorial Arboretum
- Lichfield Cathedral
- Gladstone Pottery Museum
- National Brewery Centre
- Biddulph Grange Gardens
- Downs Banks
- Emma Bridgewater Ceramics Factory and Potteries Museum
The Yarnfield Centre will be the venue for indoor accommodation and meals, and campers will use the adjacent sports field. All rides will leave from the centre, and all other events will take place on-site unless otherwise indicated.
