Rides Meeting 15-11-2023

Tim Newbery, Paul Linder and Steve Croton would venture out on a dry and bright but very blustery day for a 'Wednesday Wander' to Mimi's Mission café at Manby prior to our rides meeting.

 

Leaves were still being blown off the trees (admittedly with many a branch now laid bare) and we were cautious entering the mounds at the road sides fearing a slip. Never the less a fine ride ensued our efforts through Stewton and Legborne Furze.

 

Reaching Manby on schedule, Steve very kindly supplied the team members with hot coffee and we enjoyed a pleasant chat. With a kitchen table laden with refreshments back in Louth Tim turned down the chance of a very fine slice of cheesecake.

 

Routing back via Grimoldby we kept an eye out for Reg but all was quiet. Indeed we almost had the lanes to ourselves until our return to Tim's at a little before midday. 16 miles covered for Tim although Paul and Steve would eventually clock closer to 40 miles by the time they retuned home.

 

Deliberations were made over our rides with the fortification of bountiful refreshment. Thanks to Pete and Michelle (Chef Pete and Baker Shell) for the provision of delicious freshly baked scones, sausage rolls and various pies. Great to have had Alan joining us too in between work commitments. Thanks for his route suggestions.

 

We have a wide range of venues and routes on offer, some familiar, some less so. There's also a chance to take part in some refreshments over the festive period, with or without the requirement to cycle.
