Wild Wales Challenge 2019
Event description
This is a very tough but fantastic day out on a bike. Approximately 10000 feet of climbing and around 98 miles of the most spectacular scenery the UK has to offer.
The Wild Wales Challenge Ride is part of Cycling UK's Challenge Ride Series and is one of the toughest but most popular routes in the programme. Starting from and finishing in Bala, the ride certainly lives up to its name!
Set among the spectacular scenery of the Welsh mountains, this is a demanding ride but any reasonably fit rider should experience no difficulty in completing the course. Expect both steep climbs and descents, stunning views and little other traffic riding on the edge of Snowdonia National Park and the beautiful Dyfi Forest. The course is all on road, mostly minor roads. There are three feed stops at Britrhdir (25 miles), Gellilydan (44 miles) and Llanwrst (75 miles).
Alternative shorter (64 miles) route available.
Registration fee £25.00 includes lunch, all other refreshments, engraved Welsh slate plaque, sag wagon and full gps route directions.
