BBR at Wirral Bikeathon
Event description
Join us at 21st Annual Wirral Bikeathon. Our friendly volunteers will be running a stall in the main events area of Arrowe Country Park. Lots of FREE information about local cycling opportunities to keep you pedalling throughout the summer ahead. You can also meet our local cycling celebratory, Chris Boardman MBE, who is patron of this popular, fun cycling event.
Bikeathons are cycling events for all the family, giving everyone the opportunity to have a fun day out enjoying some healthy exercise whilst raising money through sponsorship to support the vital work of Blood Cancer Research.
The Wirral Bikeathon is one of many Bloodwise Bikeathons taking place throughout the country. All are organised by local volunteers and the aim is simple: to raise as much money as possible for Bloodwise. Everyone from 8 to over 80 can take part. Whether you’re riding solo or as a group, the day guarantees fun for all ages.
The bike ride itself is a figure-of-eight course, starting and finishing in Arrowe Country Park, Upton, Wirral. It covers 14 or 28 miles on mainly minor roads with some off-road sections. You can choose to complete the whole course or half. Register in advance (£15 adults) or on the day (£25)
The Wirral Bikeathon could not take place each year without the help from over 80 volunteers. Each year we need to recruit people from the local community who can give up their day to help the Wirral Bikeathon raise thousands of pounds for Bloodwise.
