August Bank Holiday tour of Flanders

Please notice, this is for Cycling UK members only.
Jane and Richard Chapman are organising a cycling tour of the Belgium region of Flanders over the August Bank Holiday. The emphasis of the tour is visiting some of the iconic towns in the area rather than long days in the saddle. The area is flat and the cycling is easy. Participants will need to book their own accommodation, but there are hostels at most of the nights stops which Jane and Richard are already booked into.
The Itinerary:
Sat Aug 24th - Catch Ferry from Dover to Dunkirk. (Option to either take your car or go as a foot passenger with bikes. There is parking available at the first night's hostel at Oostendunkirke if you choose the former.) There will be no formal led ride from Dunkirk to the first hostel - distance 30 miles.
Sun Aug 25th - Cycle to Ostende, 15 miles. Optional visit to the North Sea Beer Festival or time to explore the town. Overnight stay in Ostende.
Mon Aug 26th - Cycle to Bruges, 12 miles. Time to explore the town. Overnight stay in Bruges.
Tue Aug 27th - Cycle to Ghent, 30 miles, Time to explore the town. Overnight stay in Ghent.
Wed Aug 28th - Cycle to Ypres, 45 miles. Overnight stay in Ypres.
Thu Aug 29th - Time to explore Ypres then return to the hostel at Oostendunkirke, 29 miles.
Fri Aug 30th - Return to Dunkirk and ferry home.
Participants are required to be CTC (Cycling UK) members and will be responsible for booking their own accommodation and ferry crossing.
