Nahida Hussain
Cycle Sisters ride leader
Nahida started cycling in 2017 thanks to a course run by her local borough and Sustrans, after gendered and cultural barriers had prevented her learning how to ride in childhood. After commuting to work by bike, in 2020 she discovered the cycling charity Cycle Sisters.
After joining one ride, she knew she wanted to volunteer as a ride leader, but the local rides weren’t enough. The opportunity to lead longer road club rides came up, and Nahida has since empowered many women to ride further.
“I enjoy going out on long rides with other women and seeing women excel in their cycling journey.”
