Inspiring women from under-represented communities to cycle
Khadija Patel runs Krimmz Girls Youth Club. Her passion for cycling and sport led her to set the club up in Bolton in 2009. Since the club started, it has encouraged thousands of women from all backgrounds to get into sports. The cycling club at Krimmz Girls Youth Club focuses on breaking barriers - inspiring women from underrepresented, ethically diverse communities to enjoy cycling. Through group rides, community events, maintenance workshops and awareness campaigns, the club helps educate, celebrate and promote the benefits of cycling. The club empowers girls to discover their potential, embrace a healthy lifestyle, and build a strong community of like-minded individuals. Khadija Patel won the BBC Sport Unsung Hero award in 2023.
