Taking up racing in her 50s, Deborah co-founded Cold Dark North to promote cycling as both elite and local racing and as a social activity in the North West of England. She champions diversity and women’s equity in racing as an early proponent of equal prize money, started organising National B and National masters races in 2017, is a circuit commissaire and also hosts skills and training sessions for women.
