The Lake District Challenge Rides are part of Cycling UK's Challenge Ride Series. This is the longer of the two routes and is a very tough but rewarding day out on a bike, visiting the spectacular but truly challenging scenery of Cumbria.

This is a really beautiful route through Lake District with over 3000m of ascent. Climbs include the famous Honister and Kirkstone passes. These rides are not for the faint-hearted so you will need to be prepared and pay close attention to the forecast: some of the passes may be closed in bad weather. Pace yourself and enjoy a few cafe or pub stops along the way in the honeypot towns of Keswick or Ambleside or perhaps one of the pretty villages in the quieter areas away from the tourist trails.
