About us
Whirlow Wheelers, based in Sheffield, is primarily a social cycling club welcoming anyone, male or female, who enjoys coffee, cake and good crack with their cycling. We'd be the first to admit that most of us are 'getting on a bit', but we're determined to go energetically rather than gracefully!

Information about the group rides
The highlight of our week is the Sunday club run. This usually starts near Calver and takes us out into the Peak District along minor roads and country lanes - and sometimes the odd farm track depending on who's (supposed to be) navigating! Now and then we'll start elsewhere for a change: sometimes Barlboro for a ride into the flat lands (?) of Nottinghamshire, sometimes Malin Bridge for a somewhat less flat ride 'oop north'.
Club runs are typically around 40-50 miles, sometimes a little more in the summer months, and are always planned around a cafe stop. Wherever we are we search out the best coffee and cakes - and rate cafes based on our cake density index.
