About us

Brighton and Hove Cycling UK is a friendly and active cycling group based in the lively seaside city of Brighton and Hove on the south coast.

We run regular group rides going to a range of destinations. We are close to the sea, the South Downs and the beautiful countryside of East and West Sussex.

Information about the group rides

Green shoots of Spring!

Gradually the days are getting longer, and we're excited about the forthcoming peak cycling season.

We do all-day Sunday rides of about 50 miles throughout the whole year. Contact the ride leader for shorter options.  We hope to run some shorter rides as the weather improves.

If you plan to come on a ride, please make sure your cycle is in a roadworthy condition. Bring a puncture repair kit, spare inner tube (or tubeless kit) and lights as appropriate, essential tools, a mobile phone if you have one, enough to eat and drink, sunscreen/ waterproofs/ warm clothing / gloves etc. depending on the weather.

Details of the rides are posted here and on Facebook. Information also goes on our Instagram page. Please like and follow us!

On a full day ride you’re able to explore further afield with a lunch stop at a village pub or café, returning in the afternoon. Over the summer months mileage can be between 50 and 65 miles at a comfortable touring pace. This is scaled back in the winter due to the shorter days.

We are very happy to welcome new riders and potential ride leaders.

We have a lively WhatsApp group.

Brighton and Hove Cycling UK Cycle Advocacy Network (CAN) representatives are among our members.

Our AGM is coming up on 29th March (see separate post) and we hope to see you there!
