Cycling UK is dedicated to ensuring that all our external activities and deliveries are conducted safely and responsibly

We prioritise creating a welcoming environment for everyone involved in cycling, from our volunteers to our beneficiaries and members of the public.

Cycling UK is committed to:

  • A safe culture: We foster a culture that promotes and enables safe practices. Risk Assessments: We have defined processes for assessing and managing risks associated with our activities.

  • Incident reporting: We prioritise the health and safety of our volunteers, beneficiaries, and members of the public by effectively reporting and investigating accidents and incidents.

  • Risk management: We maintain a risk-averse environment by regularly monitoring and addressing risks across the organisation.

Whilst Cycling UK employee’s liability governed by our internal Health and Safety at Work policy we also have a responsibility to those who participate in our activities. To ensure their safety we implement the following measures:

  • Risk assessments

  • Incident and accident reporting

  • Participants registration

  • Role specific training

  • Public liability insurance cover

Non-compliance with our health and safety guidelines is considered serious misconduct.

Volunteers, beneficiaries, and members of the public who choose not to follow our recommended practices may not be covered by our insurance and may face formal processes, up to and including legal actions being taken.

Cycling UK Board of Trustees and the Senior Leadership regularly review our internal Health and Safety at Work policy to ensure it aligns with current legislation and best practices.
