About us
Preston Pedals’ is a Climate Action Preston project that promotes a culture of everyday cycling in Preston for proven benefits for health and wellbeing, as well as tackling climate change.
We enable Preston's diverse communities to access and get on their bikes, and at the same time help reduce waste by re-using and recycling bikes that otherwise might end up in landfill.
We are kindly supported by Lancashire County Council. Bike donations gratefully received from Active Lancashire and private donations.
Preston Pedals offer three ways to support everyday cycling:
- Fix and Be Practical – Come and learn to fix or maintain a bike at our bike repair/maintenance workshops over one or more weeks. Preston Pedals offers skilled support and access to tools to help you refurbish your or a donated bike, learn new skills or re-skill yourself in basic cycle maintenance at various community venues.
- Social Led- Rides – Have a bike and want to get out more? Interested in joining others in a small group for social rides? Want to build your confidence on your bike and places to cycle in Preston? Come and join one of our led-rides starting at one of our great parks with trained group leaders that will help you to increase your confidence on two wheels. You'll make new friends and connections. Bring your own bike.
- Community Participation - We are building a community of interest to encourage healthy discussion about everyday cycling. Join our Facebook group and occasional events, which we advertise to connect with others from diverse communities from all levels of cycling interest and views. By refurbishing donated bikes with community members, we're supporting everyone to access cycling and encouraging more people to cycle everyday.
Cost of activities – free. Book on Eventbrite
