About us
The project has the potential to positively impact our mental health through three conduits:
1. Social Group Membership

Spending time with others who share our identity, helps us to feel understood and that we belong.
2. Peer Support

The support of our peers has been shown to be helpful in a number of ways, due to our shared experiences, perspectives and knowledge.

We also learn from others, who have similar backgrounds and benefit from improved mental health, when we feel both supported and supportive.
3. Physical Activity
-
It has been suggested that structural changes can be observed in the brain which impact on an individuals' reported levels of depression and anxiety.

Additionally, exercise has also been found to improve self-concept in certain groups
