Bike Active North Suffolk (BANS) is based in Halesworth, Suffolk.

We support and encourage cycling as a way to experience the benefits associated with gentle exercise in the rural environment, improving physical and mental health and breaking down barriers such as isolation.

Rides specifically designed for disabled people

About us

We provide adapted cycling for any adult with a disability or differing needs.
Initially we will use part of Sustrans NCN1 route through the natural beauty of Halesworth Millennium Green, which is used by pedestrians, dog walkers and cyclists only.
Our Halesworth route passes through grazing pastures, is around 1.2 miles in total, lasting typically 30 minutes. Sessions are delivered by trained volunteers. Helmets and tabards are provided.
Sessions run alternate Tuesdays, each with three sessions as follows:
10:30 - 11:30am
11:30 - 12:30am
11:30 - 12:30am
We normally run April – October, but we will close sessions in extreme weather conditions.
Suggested donation for each client is £5 per session (note - a carer or responsible adult must accompany each client, donation-free)
You are welcome to bring your own refreshments, or sample cafes etc in the town centre. From our start and finish point at the basketball court, hard surface accessible paths lead to the town centre and public carpark (a walk of about 400m), with public toilets available about 250m away in the park.
