Women's Festival of Cycling

Event description

We'll be celebrating the start of Cycling UK’s Women’s Festival of Cycling 2019, and congratulate the inspiring nominees in this year’s ‘100 Women in Cycling’ list at our Parliamentary reception on Monday 1 July.

Women are underrepresented in cycling generally and Cycling UK, as part of our five-year strategy, aims to get a million more people cycling and is dedicated to addressing perceived barriers so that many more women can experience riding a bike.

We will be celebrating inspirational women who are role models in cycling and their great achievements by announcing our ‘100 Women in Cycling’ list for 2019. Along with Cycling UK ambassador and TV and Radio presenter Angellica Bell, we'll be helping to shine a light on these incredible women as well as raise the debate about women in cycling at our Parliamentary Reception. The event will include an optional bike ride through London.

Starting at the Guildhall, London, we will enjoy an optional, leisurely bike ride to Westminster for a reception in the Terrace Pavilion, House of Commons. At the Women’s Festival of Cycling Parliamentary Reception, we will celebrate and present awards to the 2019 ‘100 Women in Cycling’ chosen nominees. A number of inspiring speakers will present and discuss key findings from Cycling UK’s national YouGov survey into perceptions of women in cycling.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is invitation only.
