Off Road Ride - Epping Forest

Epping Forest Ride.

Car share to Epping Forest.

22 miles, +1,300 ft climbing, 82% unpaved.

This route is ideal for gravel bikes, touring bikes, hybrids and and mountain bikes. 

Beautiful woodland, lakes and open heaths, Terrific riding on swooping roller-coaster fire trails (similar surface to Letchworth Greenway), plus short sections of single-track through woods and quiet lanes.  Some fantastic descents (unfortunately a steepish climb after every descent!),  

Refreshments at Holly Trail Cafe (Chingford) and The Original (Bikers) Tea Hut.

Meet at Bowling Green, Stevenage Old Town at 10.00am to load bikes;

drive to Epping Forest (30 miles, 40 minutes journey time).

Park at Pillow Mounds Car Park, (Rushey Plain, Waltham Abbey, Loughton IG10 4AE).

Approx. 3 hours moving time, plus time at refreshment stops.
