Local Group Event
Sportive/Challenge Ride

Event description

A foodies' day out as well as a tour of 2 historic parks containing 2 cafés, an ice-cream parlour & a bar, all set inside former stately homes. The tour starts in Leyland taking in the sights en route via Buckshaw Village, Astley Village, Eccleston, Croston & finally finishing at the unique El Tano Argentine Wine & BBQ Emporium café bar inside Worden Hall within Worden Park.

A mixture of busy main roads, residential streets, quiet looong country lanes, shared cycle paths & cycle lanes. ALTHOUGH SHORT IN MILEAGE, THIS RIDE'S CLASSED AS 'CHALLENGING' B/C OF FEW ROUNDABOUTS ON BUSY JUNCTIONS & NARROW COUNTRY LANES WITH PASSING TRAFFIC.

A late brekkie at Astley Park is optional but we WILL be pausing at least twice for suitable refreshments/ice-cream & breaks from the sun & heat. We can stop at the Delph Diving & Watersports Centre for another break but lunch will be at the end of the ride, at El Tano wine bar, where Marco the chef will have prepared some authentic Argentine empanadas & dulce de leche pudding. Also there's an extensive wine list to accompany your treats. "Yerba Mate" (Argentine green tea) is available in form of teabag.
