Four key reasons we're partnering with Bikmo on insurance
Much like you might do with your home insurance or mortgage, at Cycling UK we believe it's important to re-evaluate the contracts we have with our key partners and suppliers regularly. That’s to make sure we are getting the best value for money, and the best product or service for the charity and its members.
This year, we sought proposals from and interviewed a range of insurance brokers, probing them on their ability to provide great customer service to our members, to innovate and help us find new insurance offers – particularly for our groups and community projects – their ability to deliver value for money and also their wider strategic ability to support us with our new strategy.
As a result of this process, we're delighted to be partnering with Bikmo as our insurance broker from today.
Here are the four key reasons we've chosen to partner with Bikmo:
1. Bikmo knows cycling
Bikmo is a specialist insurer, 100% focused on cycling and mobility. They pride themselves on their relentless focus to protect cyclists and provide an exceptional experience for you at every interaction. They already work with a range of organisations in our sector which means you can be confident in talking to their team and know they will understand your experience. Over the course of our partnership, they have offered to help us secure new insurance products to further protect members, groups and community projects. Their deep cycling experience will also help us improve perceptions of cycling through their brand reach and sharing with us the latest insights to help keep you and your bikes stay safe while cycling.
2. Bikmo prides themselves on their customer service
Their large team of cycling experts speak every day to commuters, tourers, bike shops, clubs, mechanics and many others. Their experience of a wide range of cycling activity means that they will be able to support our members quickly, professionally and knowledgably over the phone, email or chat. In addition, members and groups will benefit from a brand new, online platform to submit claims 24/7. What's more, Bikmo has a Trustpilot score of 4.4, and a Feefo score of 4.6, which tells us that their existing customers feel as good about their customer service as we do!
3. Bikmo provides value for money
Every year we commit to our members to keeping membership prices low, and our insurance premium is one of the biggest costs. We are soon renewing our membership insurance policies, which is an opportunity for us to improve on pricing and value. Bikmo has the specialist experience, and reach into insurers that understand the cycling world, to support our drive to offer members the best possible value for money.
It's not always about finding the cheapest price though, as we know members value specific terms in our policy such as not needing to wear a helmet and having at least £10m public liability. Bikmo has made some great suggestions on how we can continue to develop our insurance offer to you and we will be sharing more of this with you later in the year.
4. Bikmo is ethically driven
At Cycling UK we have a very firm policy on partnerships and will not partner with organisations that undermine our charitable objectives. Bikmo not only adheres to our policy but can demonstrate its commitment to our people and planet through its BCorp and 1% for the Planet status. You can find out more about what both of these statuses mean for Bikmo.
