Lucy’s life changed when she signed up with 10 friends to do an Ironman in 2019. The experience of training with a community of other female friends was incredibly motivating and made the long hours in the saddle much more enjoyable. 

Lucy and her friends built on this experience by starting 10 Iron Women, which has become a popular & positive community across the UK, supporting many women in doing triathlon and endurance events. They hold training runs, swims and cycle rides every week across the UK. Their goal is to improve gender diversity in endurance triathlon, with the hope that soon there will be a 50/50 gender split at a triathlon start line.
