Bike mechanic, volunteer, ride leader and group founder
Diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease, Janet hasn’t allowed her condition to limit her community work, and finds that cycling helps her to fight her symptoms. She volunteers at Greener Kirkcaldy, a community-led charity, and at Lang Toun Cycles, a community bike shop in Kirkcaldy. She has achieved a Bronze Velotech bike mechanic qualification. Now mostly using an e-bike, she set up Facebook group called e-Bike Belles.
“I discovered a determination I didn’t know I had. I’ve completed the NC500, several 100 milers, many tours including cycling from Plymouth to Barcelona last year.”
