Researcher Dulce Pedroso’s project, ‘Still I Ride’, explored how Women of Colour challenge cycling narratives, and gathering experiences of being marginalised and resisting, how cycling can be used to ‘talk back’ and experience joy. Dulce’s PhD will focus on placemaking in the context of displacement.

“Cycling brings me as much joy as when my training wheels came off in the mid-80s. From the saddle, I see the privilege society gives private cars over any other way of moving or occupying space. Coupled with a concern for the environment, this has turned me into a car-free campaigner.”
