Stirling loop via Carron Reservoir

Cycling UK member Anne Fraser and Les Stephenson are members of Talking Tandems, a group for visually impaired cyclists based in Fife. This loop from Stirling station passes through glorious countryside and has great views - though you do need to climb for it!

Set off from Stirling rail station then after some very pleasant cycling on the flat you will reach the day's first big climb up to the village of Kippen. From there cycle on to Fintry, a small village nestled in the strath of the Endrick Water between the Campsie Fells and the Fintry Hills. This is a good place to stop for lunch. From there, another climb will take you to the Carron Valley reservoir. Then it's on to Bannockburn where if you have time, you can find out about the famous battle fought in 1314, before heading back to Stirling station. A total of 37.5 hilly but very satisfying miles.
