Lyme Racing Club

The Lyme Racing Club is the largest cycle club in the Newcastle under Lyme, Stoke on Trent, North Staffordshire and South Cheshire area and as such we pride ourselves upon being a friendly and welcoming family orientated club. Time trials, track racing, road racing and mountain bike racing are just some of the competitive cycling activities that we regularly take part in and can offer to the new member. 

Lyme Racing Club has coaching for all ages from very young to OAPs, with British Cycling Level 1 Coaches, Level 2 Coaches, also qualified Level 2 MTB, Level 2 Road/TT, Level 2 Track, we also have Level 3 Track and Level 3 Road/TT Coaches. Giving Lyme RC some of the best Coaches in the country. The coaching takes place both on Newcastle Velodrome and other places in the North Staffordshire Area. 

However, don’t think that we only concentrate upon cycle racing. Membership of the Lyme Racing Club offers equally good value to both the serious rider and to the more recreational rider.

To facilitate this, we hold weekly club rides, on Saturday morning we have a shorter steady starter ride, on a Sunday morning for our road section we may have up to three different club runs, and another for our mountain bike section. We have also some very popular mid-week rides also beginner road rides on a Saturday and Thursday nights in Summer.

Our younger members are not forgotten either, with specially tailored rides designed especially for children, taking place at regular intervals but we always have coaching session all year round.

These rides can either be road rides or mountain bike rides and are led by our members who hold a current CRB certificate in line with the British Cycling Go-Ride scheme.

In addition we also have a lively and active social side to the club. During the summer we are coaching down at Newcastle Velodrome on Friday night from 6.30pm if you want to come down for a chat.

From Sept to April we are at St Mary's C of E School Ladywell Rd, Stoke-on-Trent ST6 5DE  from 6.30pm for Roller Racing and turbo training, you are welcome to come down for a chat and a cup of tea.
