About us
Luctonians Cycle Club (or LucsCC as most of us call it) is a friendly and inclusive club which welcomes riders of all abilities. Currently we have over 70 members.
Our Club rides are on Sundays and Tuesdays, and are between 30-50 miles on a circular route, usually with a cafe stop. Average speed is between 12 & 14mph, and we ride in groups of riders with similar abilities. No-one gets left behind!
On Sundays we meet at Luctonians Sports Club, Mortimer Park, Kingsland, HR6 9SB. Summer rides depart at 9.00am & Winter rides at 9.30am.
For those that enjoy shorter rides at a more relaxed pace, we meet at 10:00am on Tuesdays at Luctonians Sports Club. The route is agreed on the day, based on which cafe we fancy going to!
During the Summer, on alternate Wednesday evenings we run closed Time Trials on private roads at Shobdon Airfield, and short social rides starting and finishing at a pub. The Club also runs spinning sessions during the Winter months, plus social events throughout the year.
We also organise Club trips further afield - in recent years we have run trips to west Wales, the Isle of Wight, and the Cotswolds. Groups of Club riders also take part in sportives, Audax, and etapes.
Please contact the Secretary for further information, or just turn up to a ride! Most of our members ride road bikes, but we also get a few gravel bikes, hybrids, and e-bikes. Any type of bike is fine provided it is roadworthy, and we ask that you wear a cycling helmet.
