About us
We organise a variety of group cycling activities in and around Exeter, including Sunday Day Rides and the Thursday Bike Bus.
New riders are always very welcome. All we ask is that if you enjoy your riding with us, you join Cycling UK after three rides.
A list of our currently elected committee members and information about their meetings can be found here.
More information about us can be found on our Facebook page.
Information about the group rides
Sunday Rides
Sunday Rides form the ‘core’ of our local riding. These rides start from designated points shown on the "Rides Calendar" section.
'A' rides are longer and faster rides (usually 35 to 60 miles long often with repeated climbing and steep hills)
'B' rides are shorter and slower rides (usually 25 to 40 miles over a day, with some hills and a relaxed pace)
We usually ride to a nominated elevenses stop, carry a picnic lunch, and often return about 4pm.
Please book in advance via the "Sunday Rides Calendar" section on this page. Please book by Saturday midday as bookings after this time may not be accepted
Thursday Bike Bus
The Bike Bus starts from either Exeter Quay or West Hill and rides to a local cafe for morning coffee.
Start times are staggered, with a maximum group size of eight which aids group management and limits the frustration caused to drivers.
The Bike Bus runs at an easy pace and aims that no one is ever left behind, however, when booking please note that the earlier groups are steadier than the last group.
Booking is essential via the "Thursday Bike Bus Calendar" section on this page.
Additional Activities
CTC Exeter, and members, also organise informal events, and take part in mountain biking, weekend trips, audaxes, and competitions.
