Belles on Bikes Tayside
Our activities
About us
The Tayside Belles started in April 2015 with volunteer ride leaders running regular social rides for women in the Tayside area. Each ride is listed on our Events page with details about the route length and terrain to help you decide which rides best suit you and your bike! We also have a Facebook Page - follow us there to keep in touch.
Some frequently asked questions...
How do I join? New ladies are welcome to come along to any of our rides provided you have a roadworthy bike. However it is helpful to know how many ladies are coming along so if you can sign up on the Events page on Facebook that would be great. This will also ensure you are notified of any updates to the plan.
What do I need to bring? All you need to join a ride is a roadworthy bike. If you have not been out on your bike for a while then it is definitely worth pumping up the tyres and giving it a quick check over the day before. We usually have a coffee stop so money for coffee or lunch is good. We also ask for a £1 donation per Belle per ride to cover running costs or a £10 donation for the year.
I have not been on my bike for a while … will I keep up? Our rides are social rides not races. If you are comfortable riding a bike and are reasonably fit and healthy then you will be fine. If you are not very confident then you may wish to come along to one of our shorter rides in the first instance to see how you feel.
