The Hut
Loch Earn Hut - Free Holiday? - Well nearly!
Did you know you can have a week`s cycling holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland for just £21.00? Yes, £3 a night per person is all it costs (£3.5O for members of other Cycling UK groups) to stay for a week in the Fife & Kinross Club hut in the woods beside Loch Earn. There are lots of good cycling routes from the door; you've only about four miles of quiet lane to reach National Cycle Route 7 as it goes up Glen Ogle following a disused rail line over spectacular viaducts with splendid views, especially fine in Autumn when the birches are at their best. Within easy cycling distance are Crieff with its distillery open to visitors, Killin of the waterfalls, Comrie with its earthquake house and Balquidder of Rob Roy fame. Off-road enthusiasts have easy riding in Glens Ample, Artney and Lednock to choose from, not to mention the Wilder routes of Glen Kendrum and the Kirkton Glen. CTC Fife & Kinross has been privileged to own this hut for over seventy five years and many older cyclists have happy memories of family holidays therein. Available to members at any time of the year- but probably best in Spring and Autumn. It sleeps 2 adults and a child comfortably with mattresses and pillows (own sleeping bags required) and gas cooking with equipment provided.
Now where else could you get accommodation in a National Park for that price?
